Beyond that, replacing old friends with new was time-consuming and soul-destroying.

Still friendless. I think moving as an adult to a new area or country, us very difficult to find new friends, you don’t go clubbing or bars or gym or work not helping out, it’s near impossible to meet new people who you may feel able to connect with.
