His plans and purposes are beyond what you can ask.
one is universal, and the other is unique.
our universal destiny is to think like, act like, love like, and be like the prototype—Jesus.
destiny isn’t something you discover by seeking it. It’s a by-product. You don’t find it by looking for it. You find it by looking for God. Then your destiny finds you.
Benaiah was David’s closest confidant, a kindred spirit.

Misery loves company, and so do dreams.
Call it what you want, but it takes a team to accomplish a God-sized dream.
At the beginning of a dream journey, your competency is key. But the longer you lead, the less it’s about you. Your potential will be determined by the people you surround yourself with. So hiring decisions become the most important decisions you make because they have an exponential effect.

Many of the greatest leaders were understudies.
There is a season to go after your dreams, but there is also a season to serve someone else’s dream.
Don’t seek opportunity; seek God, and opportunity will seek you.
“Let this be a caution to you not always to hold your head so high. Stoop, young man, stoop—as you go through this world—and you’ll miss many hard thumps.”
Like each of the seven deadly sins, pride has nine lives.
You have to fight the battle every single day, but there are decisive victories. And that was one of them.
If you stay humble and stay hungry, there is nothing God cannot do in you or through you.
even more than aptitude, we’re looking for an attitude.

considering long and acting quickly.2
the bigger the dream, the longer the timeline.
“The fate of unborn millions will now depend, under God, on the courage and conduct of this army.”3
“The abolition of slavery by constitutional provision settles the fate, for all…time, not only of the millions now in bondage, but of unborn millions to come—a measure of such importance that those two votes must be procured.”4
What are you doing today that will make a difference one hundred years from now?
Every generation must steward what’s been entrusted to them.
continues by empowering the generation that comes after us.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And we prayed a lot.”
Seeds of faith germinate across nations and generations.
There are fifty-eight members in their extended family, and fifty-six of them know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
God is the One ordaining our days, ordering our footsteps, and preparing good works in advance. And when that’s the locus of your confidence, it’s not self-confidence. It’s holy confidence.
