It wasn’t so hard, but it took a lot of attempts.
Violet
That’s kinda the wrong way around, as it obviously WAS hard if it took quite a few tries to get it right

‘I hope you find Mr. Eklund safe and sound,’ said Sansom. ‘He was a good man.’ ‘Yes,’ said Parker, ‘it sounds like he was.’
Violet

An Asian company now owned the Ingersoll brand, which was, to a certain kind of person, an example of modern America’s problems in a nutshell.
Violet
I’m not American, but I agree with a ‘certain type’ of people, our countries & our heritage & history & all that entails is to be guarded & kept as special & sacrosanct & that goes for ALL countries & people.

They were staying somewhere called the Prescott Inn on the New York-Pennsylvania border, in the Emily Dickinson Suite – or, as Angel put it, the ‘Depressed Poets Wing.’

Lastrade professed to know what he was doing, but the needle hurt like fuck going in, and the skin around the hole was bruised and tender.
Violet
Jeez, you want to see a bruise at an injection site, you’d need to see mine, half my arm, from shoulder to wrist, & I’m not exaggerating, unfortunately.

Parker had to fight the urge to move farther away from her, or break the glass. He opted for breathing through his mouth, and tried not to focus on the particulate nature of odors.
Violet
I haven’t posted this in quite awhile…. This would be because when you smell, it’s not just an odor that you get on close proximity to whatever, tiny bits of it, minuscule particles actually DO go up your nose, down your throat, it’s why people say the smell sticks with them, because it really does. There, doesn’t that make you feel SO much better?

He looked around him. The floor was a mess of broken glass, shards of china, pieces of plaster, and wood splinters. The wall above his head was pockmarked with bullet holes, and a dead man lay in a spreading stain of red. ‘You see?’ he said to Louis. ‘This is why we can’t have nice things.’
Violet

‘The powers that the forces of darkness most fear,’ Mohler informed his audience, ‘are the name of Jesus, the authority of the Bible, and the power of his Gospel.’
Violet
I wonder sometimes what all those organised religion members think when they realise Jesus isn’t white… Heh, “Surprise!” Talk about ‘Guess Whose Coming To Dinner’ Then even more funny is that beyond that, he’s a fairytale, folklore, a way for greedy men to maintain control, have power, make money Tis really their own faults

But in the King James Bible, the angels were described as ‘evil.’ He had spoken with the Collector about this, but had never received a satisfactory answer,
Violet
They’d be the fallen ones If you want to say they’re real, then I’d argue there are different angels, from fallen to seraphim to warriors, soldiers of gods & goddesses Why should they not be as varied as anything else can be

‘Jesus. We ought to go.’ ‘And do what?’ ‘I don’t know, but we can’t stay here much longer.’
Violet
I think at least Mother, is going to do what she must & I wouldn’t be surprised if the old uncle was involved too, teach their young a fatal lesson….

Thayer shivered. It was cold here.
Violet
I’ve always said, that if there is a hell, & that’s a BIG if, then don’t assume it’s hot fires that await, a cold flame can burn more bitterly than any heated ones in the lore of ago.
