In front of her, the silver haired man I had seen on my entrance, has an expression so intense it’s hard to ignore. His eyes are burning a penetrating lilac, staring at me like he’s fighting internally with himself. His cheek bones grow more prominent as his mouth twists and he sucks in air. His left eyebrow is slashed on the outer side and I wonder why I haven’t seen him before. Surely, I’d remember such a face.

“Trust…no one,” he whispers the words and I feel myself frown, confused. Something is thrust into my stomach and with a sharp convulsion I grunt, breath stolen from my lungs by the pain. I glance down; he’s stabbed me in the gut with a dagger.
