Ronan’s grip tightens on the wheel and his eyes are suddenly laser focused on the road. But there’s a flush creeping down his neck. This big, strong killer gets embarrassed when I talk to him. I’ve never understood it. He’s not like this with anybody else.
“Ronan,” she says in a voice that’s too high. “You’re blushing!”
On the outside, he’s so perfect it’s hard to believe I could ever measure up to him. I’m sullied. Tarnished. Unclean. And yet he’s looking at me right now like he’s never seen anything more angelic in his life.
When I turn around, I catch sight of Scarlett and Rory across the bar. Sitting in the exact same position as we are. Rory is putting the moves on her, waiting for her to bite. And it occurs to me Ronan is trying to do the same. “Are you mimicking him?” I ask.
I catch sight of Lachlan grinning. And then the bastard winks at me. He fucking winks.
He isn’t at all sweet. But if I wanted sugar, I’d eat a fucking cupcake.
“Nobody else gets to see you like that,” he declares. “Ye’re claimed.”
“Has anyone ever touched you like this before?” I ask. His answer is a rough murmur. “No.”
“No,” he grunts. “Only you, Sasha.” A torrid fever builds inside of me, charging my blood with manic possession. Jesus.
“Good.” My voice is hoarse, drunk on the knowledge of my claim. “Because if you ever touch anyone else, I’ll murder them.”
I don’t like seeing her upset. And I made her that way. So I take a bite. And it’s good. I tell her so, and she relaxes again. I make a note to tell her the food is grand any time she cooks for me.
He takes the spoon and dips it back into the container, gathering some more. And he looks very much like a child who’s just had their first taste of ice cream. I feel protective of him, in this moment. And I never want to let anything hurt him again.
When he looks up at me with chocolate on his lips, I smile at him. He offers me a smile back. And goddamn, it’s a beautiful thing. I am so incredibly fucked.
“I’m not going anywhere,” he says. “Because I love you, Sasha.”
“I know ye’re going to be a father,” he says. “Congratulations, by the way, Fitzy… I didn’t know ye had it in you.” Some of the lads laugh, but it doesn’t bother me in the way that it used to. I have Sasha, so they can laugh all they like.
I shrug, but even I can’t hide the smile on my face this time. All of the lads are looking at me like I’ve gone mad. I doubt they’ve ever seen me smile before.
When I wake up this morning and find him with his leg tossed over me, keeping me in place, I smile. He never sleeps in, but it’s past ten already, and here he is, still out like a light.
“Sasha?” “Hmm?” I murmur sleepily against him. “I don’t know how I ever had the good fortune to find you.”
Ronan and Lachlan are both hunched over a table, staring at the baby on top of it like they’re trying to work out a puzzle of some sort. Alexei is supervising from the side as is Daisy from down below. “No, see these little flips go like so,” Ronan says as he points at the diaper on the table. “I don’t think they do, Fitz,” Crow argues. “They don’t stay like that.” “Maybe you could tape them,” Alexei offers. I clear my throat from the door, and all three of them look at me like deer in the headlights. Ronan’s cheeks flush, and so do Lachlan’s. Something I never in a million years thought he

Logically, I know I’m worrying over nothing. When he sees me naked, he’s all over me. Even more so than usual. He hasn’t said so, but I think he likes the sight of me pregnant with his baby. He tells everyone when we see them. He might as well be walking around with a banner that proclaims he got me pregnant.
I lean down and kiss her on the cheek which she seems to like. I do that a lot now. The technician smiles at us, but I don’t care. Because Sasha is mine. And I’ll do what I like with her.
“I love you too, Ronan,” I murmur against him. “You’re lucky you’re adorable. Because sometimes you drive me crazy.”
“Aye,” he answers gruffly. “You drew it for me. So I like it. I fancy all of your drawings. But this one is mine.”
Being a parent has changed him so much. Made him see the emotions he is capable of. He’s the proudest father I’ve ever had the fortune to know.
