I read an article in the New York Times Magazine that terrified me. It was a positive profile of a New Jersey program called KIDS, an unapologetically harsh youth rehab. Treatment at KIDS consisted primarily of sitting rigidly in one particular position on hard chairs for 12-hour days and being subjected to constant emotional attacks.
