‘promise’ is just a word spoken to prevent the inevitable that no one wants to see coming. I promise I love you. I promise you’re my everything. I promise not to hurt you. Do you see a pattern? Promise makes you think that you have a chance. A candy-coated word to sweeten the pot.

I don’t even bother to look up at her. Her rejection hurt too much. I told her that I loved her, and she did nothing. She said nothing. She doesn’t love me. Not the way I love her. And in all honesty, I should have never come over here.

Bro this book is hard to read, the main characters are both atrocious
