Apart from Christ, indwelling sin only angers God; for those in Christ, indwelling sin draws out his compassion. Apart from Christ, the sinful soul will be completely judged; in Christ, the sinful flesh will be completely destroyed. For now, we are his children, supported in the battle against indwelling sin and led toward certain victory.
