She is making me resonate. She is mine.
Her own name is garbled syllables, but I try to pronounce it to make her happy. Shorshie she is.
So I put a hand to the back of his neck and pull him closer to me. He’s warm, and I rather like the feel of him blocking out the chilly wind. “Kiss?” I say again, and then I lean in and brush my lips against his.
I want to tell Georgie that she is mine. That she is my resonance. That she’s safe with me and I won’t let any harm come to her if she’ll just trust me. That she is my light and my reason for being now, and that we shall create a hearth and family together.
“You are my heart,”
Will you hold me for a bit longer?” “Always,”
I trace my fingers down her soft cheek. Does she not realize? Anywhere she goes, I will gladly follow. She is my heart, my resonance, my soul. My mate.
“She is beautiful to me. Different, but beautiful nevertheless.” He brushes his fingers through my hair. “I have seen her bravery, her spirit, and her will. She has trusted me when she has no reason to. She has given me her body when she has no khui to compel her. And it does not matter what any eyes think of her but mine . . . and to me, she is the most wonderful, most attractive, and most compelling of creatures.”
“I love you,” I say softly. “You are my heart, Georgie,”
“I’m yours forever, aren’t I?” “Forever,”
“One resonance mate. We mate for life.”
