The company employs seven data scientists who collect and analyze as much data as possible before deciding where to invest. As Maris said, “We have access to the world’s largest datasets you can imagine. Our cloud computer infrastructure is the biggest ever. It would be foolish to just go out and make gut investments.” Other firms, such as Sequoia Capital and Y Combinator, are taking note and adapting quickly.
