“Oh my God,” Kenji says to no one in particular. “I think this girl wants to get her ass kicked.” “You couldn’t kick my ass if I had ten of them.”
Kenji clears his throat. “Hey—guys? Your loin passion is grossing out the little ones.” “I’m not a little one,” James says, visibly offended. “And I don’t think it’s gross.” Kenji spins around. “You’re not bothered by all the heavy breathing going on over here?” He makes a haphazard gesture toward us. I jump away from Adam reflexively. “No,” James says, crossing his arms. “Are you?” “Disgust was my general reaction, yeah.” “I bet you wouldn’t think it was gross if it was you.”
Adam goes rigid with alarm. “What are you talking about? She’s not going anywhere with you.” Warner scratches the back of his head. “Do you never get exhausted being so wholly unbearable? You have as much charisma as the rotting innards of unidentified roadkill.”
