It’s another one of those surreal moments where it feels like I’m watching somebody else’s life. I’ve had a lot of those since I met Raya.
“How the fuck could you do that to your own child? I can’t even wrap my head around that shit.” I’m shaking from the effort it takes to hold myself back. “You fucked her up. Now, I’ma fuck you up. How’s that sound?”
The woman I just killed for. The woman who turns me upside down and inside out.
I realize I can’t tell her no. I never wanna tell her no.
I see. Need. Devotion. Love. Pride. That’s all I’ve ever wanted to see in a woman’s eyes.
Because unlike Meghan Markle, I write my own fucking fairy tales.
I’m finding out the hard way that it’s very difficult to hide true happiness.
“Welcome to Tiffany and Company, Mr. Taylor.
a velvet-lined tray with rings so sparkly and pretty, they make me feel like a princess.
I catch my reflection in a shop window. I barely recognize the woman I see. She looks…happy.
“You are a princess,” he murmurs against my lips. “Now and always.”
She’s like a drill sergeant with this shit. It’s kinda cute, though.
I support her in her dreams and her delusions.
books full of grievances and grudges.
There’s a dusty skateboard propped against the wall. My stomach drops as I set the box down and reach for the board.
I set the board down on the garage floor, watching it like it might come alive. This is a conversation for another time.
Maybe she’s telling the truth. Whoever that was on the video was pretty skilled. I have to believe I would know if my fiancée was out here on some Tony Hawk type shit.

I have the placebo birth control pills she gave me. Just in case. Pregnant women have more to lose. Plus, my family will come back around for the first grandchild.
the neostigmine. That’s a failsafe for when Raya tries to give me the same fate as her father. Not when. I don't know why I even thought that. If.
I snatched a few of those notebooks, too. They’re in my safe deposit box at the bank. Could...

My unhinged, crazy as fuck, head over heels in love and obsessed with me bride. The one who needs me.
She’s my princess, and I’m her hero. That’s the story as of now. What comes next, the next phase of this adventure…I guess that’s up to her.
Life is good.
Ace takes good care of me now, but you have to always be prepared for a man to switch up on you.
He already mentioned kids on the honeymoon. I had to laugh that off, but he didn’t see the humor.
the war is over, I think. We're in the reconstruction era now, and I'm the president.
It's so amazing having a man who supports my dreams. And obsessions.
I prop my phone up, log back into my old account, and change my TikTok handle, smiling at my new and improved profile. Ace doesn’t know. Why should he? That’s what being a wife is all about—keeping the peace by any means necessary.
That’s some real getback, right there.
My handle has changed. Going forward, you can call me Mrs. Taylor.”
