Taking a world gripped with shortages and inequalities and strife and imposing a string of weak strongmen on it seems like prodding a terminally ill patient with a stick. Maybe there’s nothing you can do to make things better, but that doesn’t mean you let some sociopath get their jollies by making things worse.
