“I choose who I love, and I choose you”.
“No body, no crime.
The last time I saw them was when Chris drugged me, sold me and ultimately destroyed my entire life by having each of them beat and rape me while I was in a relationship with Kade.
Little did he know that I’d lost my daughter a month prior.
“K-Kade,” she whimpers, another tear slipping down her cheek. “Kade.” “It’s me, Freckles.”
“Barry said he can hide me – get me a new identity and a new life. I could come to America.” He’s silent, and then he says, “You’re going to annoy me by visiting every day, aren’t you?” “If I take him up on his offer, then yes.” “I’d rather spend a year back down in confinement.” I smile at his joking tone. “I think we’re becoming friends, Tobias.”
The Stacey Rhodes Effect.
“I can’t believe your dad didn’t listen,” Tylar sneers. “If he was alive, I’d smack him.”
“I was pregnant,” I blurt out, and everyone looks at me. Aria just lowers her head. “A daughter. I was sixteen weeks pregnant, and when Chris found the ultrasound picture, he beat me so badly, I lost her.” I shake, my eyes burning. “I lost our daughter, and then—” I stop, unable to keep going. I lost Kade and then my father.
“I couldn’t even tell Kade the truth,” I cry. “I said I fell down the studio stairs. I lied to him too. I always lie. Always.”
Don’t break anything, and if I find out anyone has been in my room, you’ll all be kicked out!” “I don’t even stay here,” Ty replies. “How can I be kicked out?” “For the last month, you’ve been here every day, and you claimed one of the spare rooms as your own years ago.”
I can’t wait to see Stacey beat the shit out of Cassie.
“You’re going to play this game with me,” he whispers against my lips. He tastes like smoke and mint and everything I’ve missed. “The only person stopping me from pulling my gun out and blowing someone’s brain out is you – I need you. I can hear them. Taunting and laughing at me. I can fucking feel them everywhere, but I only want to feel you.”
“Make them go away, Freckles.” “Make what go away?” I manage to ask. “The voices.”
“I need you,” he whispers against my throat as he nips at the skin there. “I need to know you’re real. I need to know you’re alive.” “I am,”
Where are you? I want to see you. Kade: And I want to see you run.
“It’s wrong,” Lu says, her voice shaking. “You’re my brother’s best friend.” “Kade doesn’t give a shit. Give me a real reason.”
“If you need to breathe, tap my leg.”
“Get on your hands and knees,” he says, gesturing to the spiral staircase. “And crawl up them.” Swallowing, I glance up then back over at him. “You want me to crawl up the stairs?” “That’s what I said.”
“That’s my girl,” he groans against my mouth. “I like when you do as you’re told.”
fifty per cent of the world’s population would fuck your dad.”
“Maybe. It’s the villains that are the sexiest after all. Who wouldn’t want a bad boy?” “He’s a psychopath who murdered people.” Her cheeks turn a bright shade of red as she smiles. “Even better.”
“We need to go to a Taylor Swift concert,” Base says. “Reckon she’d take me on stage.”
What did you want to talk to me about?” “Your family. The Russian side of your family.” “Yeah?” “I need them to kill someone for me.”
“Where’s my little brother? You sound whipped. I never thought I’d see the day you even had a girlfriend, never mind being wrapped around her finger.”
“I fell,” she says. “I fell down the studio stairs.”
“I need you to sign these.” “What are they?” “Don’t make a big deal when I tell you, okay?” I stare at him, unblinking, and he sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Kade set up a sort of safety net for you and his family. Each one of you got a lump sum – to be given if he passes away. This is me honouring that deal while he’s still alive.” I glance at the paperwork, then my eyes lift to him. “Is this a joke?” “Nope.” “Kade gave me eighty-six million pounds?” “Yep,”
I don’t understand why life can be so cruel to take away such a precious thing. We were happy and ready and prepared, and an accident ripped everything away from us.
“It just sucks.” “It does,” he agrees. “And it’s alright to grieve a loss, as long as you don’t lose yourself in the process.
I can’t bring myself to burn the box under my bed. Filled with clothes and the little princess dress, it’ll stay there until I have it in me to bin it.
When I get home, I’m gonna get a tattoo dedicated to our kid, right next to Stacey’s nickname on my collarbone.
I promise I won’t lose our baby again.”
A specific video was pulled from Christopher Fields’ computer.”
You prefer them older, don’t you? You’re fucking dead to me. Stop fucking crying, Stacey. It’s pathetic. Please don’t leave me. No matter how many times we fuck, I will never ever fucking forgive you. I’m so, so sorry, Freckles.
The sound is off, but they’re yelling at each other in double time as she covers herself, sobbing into her palm. He grabs his hair and paces, then gives her a change of clothes to cover her nakedness. She keeps mouthing sorry. Sorry. I’m so sorry. It’s my brother. He’s a monster. I thought you were Kade.
If I die, at least I’ll get to be with my angel.
Nora needs a fucking boot for letting this happen under her roof – and I’ll punch Kyle for not noticing either. But if I get my hands on Chris? Everything my dad has done in his life will pale in comparison.
I’ll crawl the entire fucking way to Stacey if I need to.
“Hey, Freckles.”
“I n-never stopped loving you.”
“I will… will always lo-love you, Freckles. Go, live your life and be free. Meet someone who can tr-treat you ri-ight. For-for-forget me.”
We have Sebastian Prince.”
And I need my dad.
Rule one: Stay away from your toxic ex-girlfriend. Rule two: Don’t unblock her number. Rule three: If you’re both in the same room, don’t fucking look at her – it’s a trap. Rule four: Under no circumstances will you have any sexual interactions with her. Rule five: Never forgive Stacey Rhodes.
“There must be a reason she’s acting this way. No one changes overnight. What did she say about it?” “I didn’t want to hear whatever she had to say. She’s nothing but a slut to me.” Dad slams his hand on the table between us, but I don’t flinch – I think I still have drugs in my system. “Do not speak about any woman that way. Ever.” When I stare at him in silence, he continues speaking. “You need to hear her out, Kade. If you love her, let her explain.”
“You’re a fucking lunatic, a waste of goddamn oxygen, and you’d be better off dead after what you put Mum through.”
I never miss a visitation with the father of the boy who broke my heart.
“I think I like her company more than yours,”
“Imagine I stopped visiting? You’d only have Aria and Luciella coming to see you once a month. And you get sad when I’m too busy to come.” He doesn’t look away as he speaks with a smirk. “You always come, little one.”
“I don’t know how Aria has been able to deal with you for over twenty years. I can barely last one without wanting to strangle you.” “You could try. But that kink is specifically for one woman and one woman only.” I snap my head at him. “You said you stopped sleeping with her. Did you lie?” “I don’t lie. When my son told me to back off, I did. Maybe you should do the same. I’m starting to think you want a piece of me too.”
