“It’s the beginning to an end or end to a beginning. It’s forever looping. No one really dies. No one is truly living, they just evolve.”
I cleared my throat, unsure of what to say because I have never felt so threatened before, and I come from a place where eight-year-olds were walking around with guns calling you twin before stealing your car. This was a whole other level of crazy and I could see why Namir had disdain for that family if he was indeed a part of them, which I had no doubt he was.
“You gon’ wish you had, Mr. Professor.” He warned. “You gon’ wish you never laid eyes on that crazy bitch.” The man walked off with his own laugh.
“You almost lost your life and you’re asking me what you think you should do?” “Nah,” I said, cracking my knuckles as I stared at Ebony in the growing distance. “I just need the battery in my back to stay charged. My mind was made up when I came up out that water.”
“Y'ALL PLAYED WITH MY MOTHAFUCKING LIFE!”
“A virgin? Yeah, no.” I closed my eyes with a frown. “Lack of experience? Yes, a virgin, no. I’ve had sex a few times. I just don’t think about that shit like y'all hoes do, clearly.”
“A date?” he repeated as he stretched his legs out with his bottle of beer between his legs. “What made you think this is a date? How do you know I’m not bringing you out here to fuck on?”
“Ahhh mann,” he laughed. “You’re a virgin…Oooooo weeeee…I’m gonna have to come at you another way. You’re not ready for this homegrown prime meat just yet.”
“Do you know I was about to…sheeiiit,” he grinned with his tongue sticking out. “I was about to fuck the living day lights out of you, girl.”
“A vampire and a wolf hooking up…yeah a lot of shit can come from that,” Quan let out. “Probably can’t even settle on the most basic shit. He wants to kill her. She probably wants to eat him.”
“Fuuuuck, Isis, you feel like home,”
Maggie Grey is the moon. There was no doubt in my mind that she’s the moon but that scream… That scream she let out was a call to others like her. I never heard anything like that in my life and I know the First Family had just as many questions as we did.
“That girl has the ability to break you down to your truest form to where you can’t control yourself. That GIRL has the power to alter moons in the fucking sky! That GIRL is dangerous! That’s why the First Family isn’t fucking with her! If THEY aren’t dealing with her, why the fuck are we?!”
“How can you fucking lead an entire family when you treat your own sister like this!? Your own littermate! You, just like the rest of these sick ass old men, don't even like women!”
“We wear face masks in order to protect our beauty, our hearts, minds, and souls from any unwanted guests and outsiders.”
“Just so you know, I talk in my sleep,” Donnie whispered. “Alot…I may get up and walk around a bit but you are not in any danger…and please don’t attack me out of fear. I just have conversations in my sleep, is all. Alot of faes do. We are more in touch with our consciousness than most. It’s deeper darker magic most won’t get,” she whispered to the side.
“Many believe the red moon is a calling for the First Family.”
“You’ve been hunting me all this time and since I wasn’t coming to you, you used my roommate to get to me. Unfortunately for you? You’ll find that I am nothing like you’ve ever dealt with but since you insist on fucking with me and my head, I’ll play along until I win. So…eat,”
“My name is Bellamy Adrias Holmes. We share the same blood trigger. That is rare, even in families unless we share the majority of the same genetic makeup like twins or siblings.”
“When we get emotional, we cry blood,” he said before nodding towards me. “I saw it that day. You were crying.”
How in the hell did it get to this point…I told a single story about my grandmother and now here I am… in the world she would always tell me about with a brother I never knew.
“You want the truth? Is that why you’re confronting me and causing a damn scene at my school?”
“When you were born, there was no moon in the sky that night because it came to earth to be reincarnated into you. That’s how I knew you were something different. Something special,”
“Your brother is right. We are not the great grandchildren of Gaia. She is not human but a Goddess and spirit of the full moon. The creator of all magic and energy…The creator of light and darkness. The world balances off those two things alone. Good and evil. Day and night. Boy and girl. Black and white. It all traces back to the basic element of light and darkness…”
“What better way to protect our kind than to attach ourselves to a God? We took that story as a means to protect what we are, making Gaia our own but she was never a vampire, no.
Wolves feared us because they believed we drew our abilities from the moon. The very thing that controls them.
“Nobody cares that you’re a fairy, Love. Try leading with something else in front of the girl who is supposed to be a fucking God,”
“Are you going to try and sleep with her, Bellamy? So you two can produce the most perfect little moon babies?”
If she’s the moon…does that make you the blood moon, Bellamy? Since your mark is red and not white? Ohh think of the powerful little baby monsters you two could breed.”
Knowing this family has all shared spit at some point, the last thing I wanted was this man blowing hot air on my skin.
“Is there anything else y'all can fucking talk about besides sex?!” One shouted out with annoyance. “Like damn! No wonder they think we’re hoes! Look at our conversation! The girl just said she was almost raped by one of our own and you asking her about her top five!”
