I couldn’t drag my gaze away from Levi’s. His green eyes were practically glowing with anger. And I was fucking attracted to it.
“Do I detect a sexual attraction here? Is that why the two of you are so grumpy? Do you two want to go bone? Might make you feel better. Don’t worry about Violet. I’ll take care of her while you two run off into the sunset together—”
But he was clearly rattled by X’s question. His neck was red as a tomato.
You don’t like dick. Don’t worry, your heterosexuality is safe with me.” He leaned in, so all I could smell was his scent. Leather and tobacco, super masculine. Deeply and surprisingly intoxicating.
Suddenly, all I could think about was him putting his hand on it. Undoing my fly. Taking out the rapidly growing erection I was currently losing the battle to keep control of. “Don’t presume I don’t want dick.” His gaze flickered to my lips. And then he pulled away an inch. “I just don’t want yours.”
Levi stepped back, a smug grin on his face like he knew exactly what I’d been thinking. I mentally commanded the blush creeping up my neck to fuck off.
Not when the two of you are trying to date my wife.
“Feel free to try it out if that’s what you’re into.”
forehead. He winced, rubbing it. “That was your fault. You two distracted me with your foreplay.”
Violet smiled at me from the other side of the door. “Hi!” X and Levi both whipped around like she’d shouted personal invitations at them. I stepped outside and pulled the door shut so fast Violet stumbled back a step.
“Nope,” I lied.
“So…this is awkward,
pay you for the other night, and I didn’t feel right about it. Here.”
Irrational jealousy
“Did you forget the rules you so diligently wrote down the other night? Specifically rule number one, where you don’t pay me unless you’re completely satisfied?”
“Gotta admit, sweetheart, I wish it had been me, kissing your neck, listening to your breaths get fast every time my tongue touched your skin.” Just to prove it, I licked over the purple bruise right where Levi or X had left his mark. She shivered, and a new round of door pounding started up behind me. It seemed to shake her out of my spell, and I rushed to keep her in it. It was selfish of me, but I couldn’t stand the thought of not finishing what I’d started. If I was being purely honest, I wanted her virginity.
“No,” she whispered. I knew it. “You saving that for me, sweetheart?” She didn’t reply, but the way her body melted into mine told me everything I needed to know. She wanted me just as bad as I wanted her. There was an attraction there that was practically palpable.
worse. I had no attachment to him the way I did to X. He’d be easier to murder. Wouldn’t Gray have a field day with that revelation. That I actually cared about X. “Did he ask you to be his girlfriend?” I asked Violet. She hesitated. “He’s been calling me his wife…”
But it had also been a very long time since I was actually physically attracted to a woman who’d booked my services. Not to mention actually enjoying her company as well. I’d been on enough pointless dates to know that the combination of the two was rare. And dangerous. Because a woman like that had the potential to break your goddamn heart when she was no longer yours. I knew all too well how that felt, and it wasn’t something I wanted to repeat. But I couldn’t walk away either. So I did what I always did. Made it all about the physical and ignored that something deep inside me wanted more.
Levi and X both glared at me. “We’re going to need to have a conversation about what just happened here,” X declared without any of his usual wit or sarcasm. I sniggered. “I got the girl, X. At least for tonight.” “Only because you locked us in the house,” Levi muttered. I raised an eyebrow at him. “You could have walked out the back door and around to the front. But you didn’t. Fight harder next time if you truly want her.”
“Look. It’s clear we have a problem here. We all want Violet. True?” “True,” Levi and I both agreed. “We all have to work together, true?” “True,” Levi and I said in unison again. X grinned. “We all want Whip and Levi to kiss. True?”
“You were right about the rest of it though. We can’t keep fighting over her,” Levi said. X nodded. “Agreed. So I propose a friendly competition.” I glanced at him. “It’s probably the only time I’ll ever say this, but talk more.” “We all get three days. They don’t have to be consecutive.
This is demeaning.”
“Uh, no? I mean, that sounds pretty nice actually.”
So I could throttle him.
didn’t know what I was anticipating more. Whip’s request that I see him tonight. Or X’s phone call, asking if three men could have a competition to win me over. I didn’t know how I’d gone from no men to three in the space of a couple of weeks. But a nagging voice inside my head reminded me I didn’t really have any of them.
