6Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment, 7for we brought nothing into the world, and [19] we cannot take anything out of the world.
8But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.
9But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge...

Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness.
3Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.
6It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops.
If we have died with him, we will also live with him; 12if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; 13if we are faithless, he remains faithful— for he cannot deny himself.
22So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
23Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels.
24And the Lord's servant [8] must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach...

15To the pure, all things are pure, but to the defiled and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but both their minds and their consciences are defiled.
2Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness. 3Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, 4and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, 5to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled. 6Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.
TITUS 3 Remind them to be submissive to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work, 2to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people.
so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works.
10As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, 11knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.
14Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?
15and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.
18For because he himself has suffered when tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted.
Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God,
3He is without father or mother or genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but resembling the Son of God he continues a priest forever.
12For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”
13In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.
12But when Christ [27] had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet.
17then he adds, “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.” 18Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.
30For we know him who said, “Vengeance is mine; I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge his people.” 31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
HEBREWS 11 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
3By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
5By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him.
7It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?
11For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
HEBREWS 13 Let brotherly love continue. 2Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
5Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
“The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”
16Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
11For the sun rises with its scorching heat and withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.
12Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
15Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.
19Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; 20for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
27Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
13For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
18And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
But who are you to judge your neighbor?
14yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.
15Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.”
17So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
12But above all, my brothers, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or by any other oath, but let your “yes” be yes and your “no” be no, so that you may not fall under condemnation.
11Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.
17Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.
PETER 3 Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, 2when they see your respectful and pure conduct.
