24The LORD bless you and keep you; 25the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; 26the LORD lift up his countenance [11] upon you and give you peace.
17I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near: a star shall come out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel; it shall crush the forehead [48] of Moab and break down all the sons of Sheth.
17Beware lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’
19Love the sojourner, therefore, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.
for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and subverts the cause of the righteous.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
For as his share is who goes down into the battle, so shall his share be who stays by the baggage. They shall share alike.” 25And he made it a statute and a rule for Israel from that day forward to this day.
29For you are my lamp, O LORD, and my God lightens my darkness. 30For by you I can run against a troop, and by my God I can leap over a wall. 31This God—his way is perfect; the word of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.
36You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your gentleness made me great.
9Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?”
21And he said, “Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.”
12From out of the city the dying groan, and the soul of the wounded cries for help; yet God charges no one with wrong.
28And he said to man, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’”
11Be not far from me, for trouble is near, and there is none to help.
PSALM 23 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
4Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, [54] I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
16Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am lonely and afflicted. 17The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses. 18Consider my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins.
20Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me! Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you. 21May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for you.
7The LORD is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him.
10Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD.
7The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him, and delivers them.
17For when he dies he will carry nothing away; his glory will not go down after him.
10Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right [124] spirit within me. 11Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me. 12Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.
19Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation.
11Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.
47Remember how short my time is! For what vanity you have created all the children of man!
19He made the moon to mark the seasons; [221] the sun knows its time for setting. 20You make darkness, and it is night,
2Great are the works of the LORD, studied by all who delight in them.
17The dead do not praise the LORD, nor do any who go down into silence.
8It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in man. 9It is better to take refuge in the LORD than to trust in princes.
105Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
4Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children [258] of one's youth. 5Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them!
3You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. 4Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O LORD, you know it altogether.
10Teach me to do your will, for you are my God!
PSALM 144 Blessed be the LORD, my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; 2he is my steadfast love and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield and he in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples [280] under me.
4Man is like a breath; his days are like a passing shadow.
7Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.
15Drink water from your own cistern, flowing water from your own well.
10A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, 11and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.
17Better is a dinner of herbs where love is than a fattened ox and hatred with it.
32Whoever is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
10A rebuke goes deeper into a man of understanding than a hundred blows into a fool.
13If one gives an answer before he hears, it is his folly and shame.
4The sluggard does not plow in the autumn; he will seek at harvest and have nothing.
13Love not sleep, lest you come to poverty; open your eyes, and you will have plenty of bread.
2Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the LORD weighs the heart.
13Whoever closes his ear to the cry of the poor will himself call out and not be answered.
17Whoever loves pleasure will be a poor man; he who loves wine and oil will not be rich.
22:1 A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, and favor is better than silver or gold.
