“Ms Preston, I apologise that you’ve come all this way for work that is so obviously beneath your skills. All I have is a few canvases and art supplies lying around, nothing to be concerned about, but we are hosting a ball at the castle in six weeks, and my valet is convinced that my things will develop sentience and devour our guests.”

“Why would you need to go to the village?” Reginald frowns at the empty plate in my hands. “Have I not been feeding you properly? Is there some comfort you require that I have neglected?” He looks so distressed that I feel guilty.

The Nevermore Coven are feeling smug about their victory. They brought Baylor to justice. A fitting end for a vile creature. What they don’t know is that Baylor, while guilty of many transgressions, is innocent of these particular crimes. The Nevermore Murder Club and Smutty Book Coven is not the only source of justice in this village. I too am ridding the world of vile creatures. I’m here, in the shadows. I’m watching. My fangs are sharp. I’ve only just begun.
