Though he wasn’t frolicking around, blabbering, and active like the average three and a half year old, the intricacies of his brain were far from average. His mind didn’t function like theirs either. He was wise beyond his years.
“I’ll leave you two alone. Congratulations on the baby, Howard. Hopefully she gets around to telling you about the one she birthed and deemed unfit for her lifestyle yet is responsible for the architect of the very restaurant you’re sitting in tonight.”
They were structured so beautifully. And, built with so much intention. Their talents were endless. Their instincts were mindblowing. Their presence was undeniable.
Discovering yourself is the first step. Becoming sure of yourself is the second step. Loving yourself, unconditionally, is the final step.
“For a woman he loves, even a woman he likes enough, a man will not have to be asked, told twice, urged, or reminded… He just will. Anything. Any day. Any time. Any place. Nothing will ever be too much to ask of or expect from him. So, crossing an ocean for a woman you love isn’t surprising to me. It’s inspiring.”
I know better than to fall for who I believe a man can be when who he truly is, is staring me right in the face and calling me a bold-faced liar.
“Hear me well when I say don’t ever let that stop you again. I’m not a law abiding citizen, Rose. I run red lights.”
Most women experienced the negative influence of a man’s presence. The kind that declined their health, sanity, and ability to navigate the world with a whole, fully-functioning heart. With a man beside them, they became the diminished version of themselves. And, when they passed a mirror, they hardly recognized the suppressed form of their beauty.
“No ma’am,” Roulette protested. “I’m going to beat your ass like Richie and Rhea should’ve if you run your tall ass out there like you have no couth. You know better, Rather.”
