They’re just regular people who get obsessed by something and spend a ton of time thinking out loud about it.

Lorna was said we at ETT were ordinary people doing extraordinary things - in that case it was webcasting. I believe her thoughts apply equally well here.

This is yet another trait of amateurs—they’ll use whatever tools they can get their hands on to try to get their ideas into the world.
