They had canceled plenty of games before—Shattered Nations, Nomad, Warcraft Adventures—but none had been this consequential. Titan was the company’s biggest failure to date, at $80 million and nearly seven years of development time, and it had come with a large opportunity cost, taking some of Blizzard’s most experienced staff away from other projects. Some of the company’s higher-ups began to feel, for the first time in Blizzard history, like they had failed.
