Tippl asked Morhaime to give him another shot, so Zerza came back for another round of interviews. His performance improved, and it started to feel to Blizzard’s executives like this was a losing battle. Morhaime could only push back against so many of Activision’s requests, especially when the CFO position had gone unfilled for so long. Morhaime also thought it might be beneficial to have someone in Blizzard’s C-suite who spoke Activision’s language and could see firsthand what made people love the place.
