“You would have minded,” Weldir rebuffed. “I know better than anyone what it is like to be in that world and not be a part of it.”
“I also know how lonely it is to be by someone’s side and not be able to feel them, smell them, taste them. It rots you from the inside out, and it is a special form of agony. One which lingers in a heart you do not even have. A million words can’t replace a single, silent action.”
“Women are powerful creatures. I’ve watched them enough to know my most bull-headed child can easily be swayed by her.”
“I want to be you when I grow up,” Gideon stated with a chuckle, hoping to ease him. Gideon knew he’d only confused him when Aleron tilted his head. “But you are already grown.” His lips parted in a wide grin. “I’m saying I admire you for saying that. It takes a courageous person to admit their flaws. Not even I can do that, but I wish I could. I wish I could be transparent about who I am, without fear of being judged.”
“You will not threaten my human,” Aleron barked, snapping his fangs at him. “I asked him to come here. Even with a bride, I see you have not changed.”
“I appreciate your care. It means much to me.”
“What I am trying to say is: if you hold any regret, please do not do so. Our feelings towards you, although conflicted, were always warm – as they have been with all other Mavka. We did not mean to burden you, so thank you for being a safe place we could return to.”
He loved Ingram as his kindred, Merikh as his brother, Raewyn as his friend, and even Weldir and Lindiwe as his creators.
He is lovely.
“Calling it a curse means there is something wrong with us,” Aleron
“Why must you be filled with sorrow for this?” Aleron asked, just as his orbs swirled with a deep blue for her. “Is there no one here to bring you into the comfort of their wings?” She exaggeratedly covered her mouth when she gasped, her eyes widening. “Oh my,” she rasped. Then she pointed to him while staring at Gideon. “He’s just the sweetest!” Gideon’s eyes crinkled with tenderness and humour. I think so too.
“I would like to see you try, little beast.” The mirth in Aleron’s tone nettled him, as well as the tease.
“Go away,” he lightly rumbled. “Yeah, shoo, Mr dusty man! Or I’ll sic my giant feather duster on you,” Gideon chimed in. “We’ve had enough of your interruptions.” Within the darkness, Aleron’s orbs flared bright yellow. “He is rather dusty.”
“I wanted you to be my bride. I thought you loved me, as I do you,” Aleron quietly grumbled, through little pain-filled whimpers. “I thought that was why earlier we became one. I do not understand what I did wrong.”
“Come here, darling,” Gideon cooed as he crawled to his knees and put his arms around Aleron’s neck to hug him.
“Really? I am not alone in this feeling?” The sincere hope in his tone pulled on Gideon’s heartstrings.
“Are you alright, darling?” Gideon asked anxiously, wanting to make sure Aleron was okay. “I will be once you are mine,” he growled back, possessive playfulness evident within it.
Bright pink exploded in his sight. He said he was falling in love with me. That meant he loved him... right? Or felt strongly towards him?
I will try for you. Aleron squeezed him tighter. You are my bride. I love you, and you chose me. Gideon had been perfect for him. Playful, smart, forgiving.
“Because you are my bride. You do not remember, but we bonded in the afterworld.”
“I will not leave you. You are mine, and I must protect you.” “I don’t need protecting,” Gideon muttered back.
At least his soul wants to be with me.
did not realise I could feel so lonely in another’s presence.
Like in a field of budding spring flowers, Aleron would be the sun that melted the ice. Gideon
My little spring... I will thaw you.
Pretty male. He didn’t need to be looking at him to think this. His face and body may be beautiful to him, but there was so much about him that attracted Aleron.
My pretty human.
If he had a few love languages, whether that be romantically or platonically, Gideon knew for certain of two. Physical touch was a big one, and usually only reserved for those he was very close with. Deep down inside, he was a massive love bug, and he enjoyed showing that with one-arm wrestle hugs, cuddles, or even just leaning his shoulder against the person he sat next to.
Another language was acts of service. This had fewer restrictions, as he enjoyed helping most people.
I didn’t realise his feathers were so silky. He slyly caressed a few between his thumb and fingers while his other hand massaged. They’re also really beautiful. Now that they were dry, they caught the light from the campfire and glistened with blue and purple while still retaining their general blackness.
“I have craved you touching me again,” Aleron croaked out. He paused, his eyes
He ducked back, hiding so Aleron didn’t know what he’d seen. Definitely turned on. A mixture of emotions bombarded Gideon.
I ache to be inside you, little spring.
Thaw for me, little spring.
I know, Aleron thought warmly, lowering his leg. He just wanted to re-enact the first time Gideon had said it to him, and Aleron had misinterpreted it. I just wanted to see you laugh because of me. Aleron would do
You sneaky bastard. You knew that was going to happen. To his dismay, Gideon found that ridiculously charming.
“We were each other’s home. There was never a need for us to find shelter anywhere else.” “That’s kind of sweet.” Gideon bravely peeked over the side to look at the ground.
“Yeah, but that usually isn’t enough.” Gideon turned his face up to the crescent moon, similar to the one that had shone brightly the night he died. “Thank you for still being here for me, even after I gave you my absolute worst. Not many people would have remained.” He squeezed Aleron’s big, clawed hand a little tighter. Thank you for forgiving me, even if I don’t really deserve it.
Except... Gideon was an awkward fucking idiot at the best of times.
Having a bride is hard. He wrapped Gideon’s throat in his palm, and caressed his jaw back and forth with the side of his thumb. I do like this one, though.
There had to be a name for creatures that could lull unsuspecting Mavka to their watery demise. Suddenly his alluring bride had turned into one, and he was helpless to deny the call.
If I had known he could lick me... I would have made him do it in the afterworld. He would have done it back. Pretty male, with pretty lips on my cock.
“You have taken me before, little spring.”
In the day, Aleron gained no rest. He didn’t know what sparked this human turning into a bold, perverse little beast, but Gideon tried teasing him in the air. He touched Aleron’s chest, lifted up to kiss at his jaw, with his trousers hiding away his hardness. Then the male muttered words that didn’t seem erotic, but absolutely were for Aleron.
want to smother him in affection while he speaks to me.
“But you have not taken your favourite part of me yet, little spring,” Aleron purred against him. With a small amount of
“I want to see you fucking lost for me, Gideon. I have needed you for so long. To be inside you, fucking you, and have you needy beneath me.”
Is it possible to fuck a human to death?! If so, he would have liked to have known that before he did it!
His heart told him to hold me, so he put his wings around me. I can’t believe I rejected something so important to him.
