There was still a hope that Port Atwood could cooperate with the rest of the world, and he felt that the government was a good tool for that.

He is an idiot. Goverment is looking the other way as atrocities happen just to gather control.

“I plan on attending. I’ll go back and report and then return. I may bring someone back with me,” he answered.

Anyone else and this is just something to say so he can get home. From him, he really plans on coming back to the obvious trap.

“Enough,” Zac said while glaring angrily at Ogras, already regretting bringing him. “What will you do if you get us thrown out before the auction even starts?”

His empty anger does nothing. He is not in control of his group in any way.

Zac wondered if he would ever be able to return to New Washington or their alliance towns without a cover. If the government made Zac an accomplice for what seemed to be a murder spree and a kidnapping, there was no knowing what they might do. Perhaps his good name was being dragged through the mud as they spoke.

If he is really in doubt that he is being blamed and villified then he is as idiotic as I think he is.

He had been forced to let Emma stay here until the promised mansion was built, and he had decided that the construction would be fast-tracked.

Still, it was thanks to her that he could still attain the first Lord title and benefits, so he chose to simply endure it for now.

Zac furiously looked up at his ex, but before he had time to do anything, a boundless cold erupted from the weapon. “You…” was all Zac could say as darkness took him.

“Don’t worry; I know what I’m doing,” Zac eventually said.

So he had no answers.
