Most of this book is advice for feedback receivers. But here, we offer thoughts to both giver and receiver. Ask yourself three questions: (1) What’s my purpose in giving/receiving this feedback? (2) Is it the right purpose from my point of view? (3) Is it the right purpose from the other person’s point of view? Is your primary goal coaching, evaluation, or appreciation?
