Christmas in Spite of You

Or maybe I hated what Christmas used to represent in my life. The thought of adopting a new version with her wasn’t so bad.

“It is my first real Christmas. And it’s also my first Christmas with you. It’s appropriate. Thank you.”

“My life doesn’t work without you in it, and I’m willing to bet you would say the same if I asked and you answered honestly.”
