There's only one tiny problem. Jane faints at the sight of blood.
“Oh, but you did. You can be quite the dramatic monarch.” Gaston picked at his nails absently. “It’s drama queen, you relic. Now, are you going to help me or not?”
“Back up a minute, Christian Grey. I don’t know what kind of kink you’re into, but Jane Anderson obeys no one. Got it?”
“Vampire.” He bared his teeth and tapped a fang. A goddamn fang.
“Don’t call me Eddie.” “If you didn’t act like such a brooding, teenage-romance vampire, I wouldn’t.”
“Fantastic. It’s just my luck to get turned into a vampire by an Edward Cullen wannabe who has Captain Jack Sparrow as his mentor.”
“Apologies, Magistrate. She’s freshly turned and ornery as hell.
“It’s true. Ethan, show her your fangs.” He shook his head, looking perturbed, as usual. “I don’t perform on command.”
She crossed her arms. “We are not monsters, Edward. Now take a hike and bring Ethan back. I like him a lot better.”
“That’s perfect.” Four years in the high school drama club had served her friend well.
