Wreck My Plans

I firmly believe I can make my way in the world without a partner, but that doesn’t change the fact that sometimes I’m simply lonely.

Sometimes I wish I had someone to laugh at my ridiculous day and remind me to eat a real meal every once in a while. Someone to cuddle up to on the couch and have inside jokes with. Someone to lean on when I’m not feeling my strongest, and who can guide me in the right direction when I’m feeling lost.

The view. The view is only the most gorgeous woman in the goddamn world.

“You’re a lot of things, Lena Santos, but a side character is not one of them.”

“The right person would be steady and dependable. A partner who sees you just the way you are and loves every tiny piece. They would need to be a lighthouse for you to come back to after you’ve braved the seas.” His voice slips over me like the softest velvet caressing my skin. “And they would need to be protective of you. Because you spend so much time protecting everyone around you that you need someone watching your back.”

“You’re perfect just the way you are. Wild, free, passionate, warm.”

“Fuck it,” I growl, bringing our mouths together in a gentle kiss.

“I’m always looking at you.”

“You are not the person people find on their way to meet someone else. You are the whole damn package, Lena, and anyone would be lucky to love you and take care of you.”

“It’s one night, Gav. One night to get it out of our systems.”

I look like a woman who got fucked good and hard last night, and I’m kind of obsessed with it, honestly.

“Because it’s so hard to look your family in the eyes when I want you so much.”

“That’s my girl,” he praises, and I preen, wanting to be his girl. Only his, forever.

He’s my person. He’s my Gavin. He’s mine. And I love him.

“I love you, Lena. I love your smiles and your sass, your feisty attitude and your sweet one too. I love every bit of you, and I want all of it, forever.”

“You brought life to my tiny, cold heart, and it’s yours. It’s been yours for so long, and it always will be.”

“Fuck all that. Wreck my plans. Obliterate them. You’re my dream. None of it matters compared to you.”
