The thing is, most believers aren’t in imminent danger of ruining their lives. They’re facing a danger that’s far greater: wasting them.
God is often working behind the scenes of your life, orchestrating His destiny for you. Even though you don’t have a clue what He’s up to. Just because you haven’t heard God call your name or tell you specifically what to do with your life doesn’t mean He’s not conspiring great things for you.
Your greater life doesn’t begin with building your dream house. It begins with burning down your old house.
God does not necessarily tell you how He will do it, only that He will do it.
He’ll do the showing if you will do the going.
Thinking big enough and starting small enough are two sides of the same coin.
You do have to be willing to think big. But the active ingredient of God’s greater work through us is our willingness to start small.
Only God can send the rain. But He expects you to dig the ditches.
We are commanded to prepare for the move of God before He makes the first move.
You can’t make God send you the right person, but you can be the right person. You can dig a ditch in a valley.
It’s not what we do for God. It’s what we say to God—yes or no.
One of the Enemy’s most effective strategies is to get you to focus on what you don’t have, what you used to have, or what someone else has that you wish you had.
The secret is, you don’t need much. All God needs to take your life to a higher level is all you have.
A God who created something out of nothing can certainly create something greater out of little.
if you really want to see God expand your vision, I challenge you to think inside the box. Stop waiting for what you want, and start working what you have.
He’ll make your box bigger.
“Little is much when God is in it.”
If you don’t see the result you’re praying for and you’re praying in faith, then, according to God’s will, He must be putting your prayers in a trust fund.
Why does God so often ask us to do the one thing we think is beneath us?
God gives us practices like fasting for the same reason He gave Naaman a gift certificate for the spa called the Jordan River—because we all have pride like Naaman, and we all need to take decisive steps of obedience in order for God to humble us.
Thinking it’s all about us is kryptonite to the greater life.
Luke 16:10). Great opportunities later require immediate obedience now.
Somewhere in the busyness of everyday life, in the flurry of activity, we lose our edge.
No detail or circumstance in my life falls outside His concern.
no matter how much I struggle day to day, I’m never farther from God than a prayer:
He’s the God of another chance.
dream bigger and start smaller.
Maybe the reason some of us feel surrounded by opposition as we try to live for God is that we have surrounded ourselves with the wrong people. They aren’t hiding outside our windows waiting to ambush us. They are sitting at our tables by personal invitation.
What matters is what my Father sees in me and what He says about me.
we can’t put it to use if we don’t know it’s there.
“My Father says I am.”
