The kingdom is a fundamental eschatological category, and Jesus’s fundamental message is about the kingdom. This helps to explain the objection of Reformed theology to dispensationalism. In the dispensational understanding of eschatology, the kingdom of God is relegated to the millennial age after the second coming of Christ, effectively removing a present or realized eschatology.
