Kyle smiled and nodded. ‘You’re doing a great job,’ he said. ‘And how else might you find like-minded people to discuss this with if you knew that you alone can do something?’
‘then write down the question so you won’t forget it.’
She could transform a crowd of nerves into laughter and ease just with the way she asked and listened. Her focus was on them, not on herself.
I watched people become more and more articulate in the light of her real and respectful, unhurried attention. This, I believe, is what people miss.
