“What’s an adventure if you know all the steps before you take them?”
His smoke gray coat showed some sweat, though the morning stayed cool—and his ears stayed stubbornly back.
This time she’d done the walking. No, she corrected, she’d done the arriving. That mattered so much more.
“I’ll get that salve to you in the morning. And see you, Iona, tomorrow, after work. We’ve much more to do.”
Earlier, she said she’d send the salve along with Iona in the morning, yet now she’s telling Iona that she’ll see her in the afternoon. How is the salve getting its way to Fin? Will Connor take it over to the stables? It’s a small mixup in messages, but an editor should have caught this as immediately as I did.
Unless, Branna already knows that for some reason, Iona will be at her house in the morning before Iona goes to work.
EDIT- after reading ahead, I see that this is an error that an editor should have corrected. Branna isn’t sending the salve with Iona in the morning, because Iona won’t be there to get it. IF Branna meant that she would give it to Iona the night before, that wasn’t made clear at all. It’s confusing.
“When you’ve had less than little in some things, you’re grateful for even a spoonful of more.
She wasn’t sure she’d ever had a fried chop, but wasn’t complaining. “I can help. Keep my hands and head busy.” “I’ve a couple of tomatoes in there Mick’s wife gave me from her little greenhouse. You could slice them up.” So she worked beside him, and felt better for that, too.
Why haven’t either of them called Branna and Connor? They need to know what happened NOW! Also, she should let Branna know she’ll be late getting back to the house.
It’s better to see and know you’re a fool than to keep your eyes shut and keep acting like one.”
“Love shouldn’t be hard.” “There I think you’re wrong. I think it should be the hardest thing there is, then it’s not so easily given away, or taken away, or just lost.”
