I cocked my head at it, wondering what it would feel like to touch it. There were rumours it could knock a Fae out for three days and if they were true then I’d die out here when they sucked the air from the place at the end of the session unless some kind soul carried me back. And as I was surrounded by killers and cutthroats, I somehow doubted that would happen.
The ruddy brown Wolf came to run at my flank and I turned to him with a bark of excitement as he matched my pace, his eyes blazing. My spirit called out to him in a way which reminded me of home. Of my family. And I was pretty sure I already knew who I’d be selecting for my Beta.
Contrary to my initial assessment of the feisty little Werewolf, she was proving to be a serious contender for dominance in her cell block. If it weren’t for her neighbour, Sixty Nine, the arrogant fuck of a Lion Shifter Roary Night, she probably would have seized the Alpha position in the block already. Instead, it looked like they were making friends.
Instead of making an opponent out of her biggest competition in her cell block, she was winding him around her little finger instead. She’d probably hold off on fucking him until he was down begging on his knees for it, and by then it would be too late for him to figure out she’d played him like a fool.
“You’re on level nine today,” I told her, my heart thudding harder in anticipation. “That’s isolation,” she breathed and I narrowed my gaze on her. “Who told you that?” I growled. “Officer Lyle,” she said with a shrug then caught my sleeve, tugging me forward. “Come on then, what are we waiting for?”
the handle under her chin and forcing her to look at me. “Do you have something to say, Twelve?” “No,” she replied simply. I smashed the handle down on the ground, making her flinch. “No what?!” She stared at me for a long moment, resilience burning in her gaze. Then she snorted derisively, dropping her head. “No, Officer Cain.”
“Who’s the girl?” Eighty Eight made kissing noises to try and get her attention as if she was a cat and I smirked when she didn’t even raise her head. “Hey kitten, come here.” “She’s new,” I told him. “Just processed her this week. She came in naked and wild,” I taunted him and he groaned. “Hey – look at me!” he barked at her, slamming his palm against the door in frustration.
“Yeah, that’s great and all,” I said dismissively and he raised an eyebrow at me in surprise. “But what I’m more interested in is whether or not you can choose what form you take on?” “Why?” “Curiosity,” I replied innocently, shifting my fingers against his cheek again and eliciting a groan from his lips. “Could you become me for example?” “You’re my dirtiest fantasy so I’m sure I could manage it,” he teased and I bit my lip against an amused smile. “Although there are a few anatomical areas which don’t exactly shift…” “So you’d look like me but you’d still have a cock?” I asked, snorting a

“Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock, the mouse ran up the clock-” “What are you doing?” I asked, inching nearer to the hatch as I tried to catch sight of him. “The mouse fell down-” Sin slammed his hands against the metal door and it banged loudly, making me flinch in surprise. “Sin?” I pressed, stepping right up to the door and wrapping my fingers around the edge of the hatch as I angled my head to try and see him. He just kept singing, ignoring me entirely and a low growl sounded in the base of my throat. “Sin?”
“You’ve got to think outside the box, Sin,” she cut me off again, shifting closer. “But I guess that must be hard for you when you’re locked in the box.” She tapped on the door and I cocked my head, my eyes falling to the pudding. “I gave you what you want. Now give me my reward.” I lunged for the pudding again and she gave it up willingly this time. I snatched it away, hugging it to my chest, going full Golem on its ass. Mine.
Rosalie Rosalie Rosalie. Os…Osmund? Ostrich? O-Sin-you-make-me-so-wet? Didn’t matter. The first name was all I needed as I rolled it across my tongue, saying it over and over.
“Will you taste as good as this pudding, Rosalie?” I mused aloud, lifting my finger to my lips. I sucked off the chocolate and moaned lustfully, dropping forward so I peered down into its soul. “You were a goner the second you walked in here, pud. Come to daddy.” I dropped over the pot and drove my tongue inside it, devouring it all at once like the greedy bastard I was. Every bite was a miracle, every lick a fucking Divine Moment. I would happily be mated to this pudding for all of time. Except I ate her good. She was gone before she knew what had happened.
“Sonny Tribera,” he said with a smirk. The Triberas were a sister branch of the Oscura family; three brothers had married some of my grandpa’s sisters a few generations back and their name was pretty damn common in my family. We were probably third or fourth cousins or something like that, but it was hard to keep track in a family as big as the Oscuras.
With a word from Roary, the Fae surrounding him slipped away and he smiled mockingly as he waited for me to join him. “What have I done to earn myself a visit from the great Moon Alpha?” he teased as I came to stand before him. “Moon Alpha?” I asked, raising a brow. “You’re causing enough of a stir around here to be earning yourself nicknames,” he replied. “And I’ve got eyes and ears everywhere reporting back to me.” “That must be handy,” I replied, twisting my fingers through my hair as I moved to lean against the wall beside him and we looked out across the Magic Compound at the rest of the

“It’s time,” I muttered and Rosa’s spine straightened. She lifted her chin, releasing a low howl and within seconds, her pack rose from their seats all around the room. Her Beta, Sonny, stalked across the hall and smashed his breakfast tray straight over Ethan Shadowbrook’s head. The Lunar pack dove from their seats, rushing at the Oscura pack as Ethan caught the culprit by the throat and started beating the life out of him.
He half turned his head with a gasp of alarm, but I flicked the power on and drove it into his spine before he had the chance to see who had taken it. Hastings bellowed in pain and his eyes rolled as electricity poured into him and he collapsed to the ground at my feet. Satisfaction sprawled through me as I tossed the baton aside.
I lunged toward her, throwing her backwards and pressing my body flush to hers, driving her into the ground. I hooked her legs up around my waist as she gasped then I dropped my mouth to her neck, biting into her flesh hard enough to make her cry out. Between the rush of the heist and the taste of her achingly sweet body on my tongue, desire burst through me and I got hard for her in an instant. Oh shit.
“Where-” she started and I snatched her waist, dragging her against me and pushing my tongue into her mouth. I groaned deeply before I could stop myself, pushing the key between her lips and lingering there far longer than was necessary as her mouth moved against mine. She was the sweetest thing I’d ever tasted. A mouth I had vowed never to claim. She was all the things I couldn’t have wrapped up into a cocktail of forbidden fruits. Her tongue met mine with hungry strokes and a fire burned at the base of my spine as I fought the urge to drag her into my cell.
Roary laughed darkly and movement in the corner of my eye made me glance at the grate between our cells as he laid down and looked in at me. I waved my hand at him to encourage him to start talking and he smirked as he gave in to my demands. “First, I’d unbutton your jumpsuit, real slow,” he said in a low voice which had my toes curling.
“What’s wrong, Cain?” I breathed. “Are you jealous?” He snarled in my ear, driving me up against the wall more forcefully, his whole body pressing to mine. The touch of his magic kissed my skin as he threw a silencing bubble over us and he leaned down to speak in my ear. “If I want a piece of trashy Wolf pussy I can get it easily enough on any street corner in your old neighbourhood. I hear Oscura girls give it up for five auras and beg for more when you’re done with them.” “Sounds like you have a lot of experience of that, Officer.”
“You’re forgetting something, Twelve,” he said, speaking right into my ear as his hands slid over my body and he continued to search me. “I already have you. The Warden assigned you to me. Your ass is mine.” His hands gripped my ass as he said that and he squeezed firmly enough to make me gasp. “You don’t own me, Cain,” I scoffed, though my pulse was racing at his words. “Maybe not,” he conceded, dropping to his knees behind me and running his hands down my legs. As he ran them back up the inside of my thighs, my pulse pounded even faster and he stood behind me again, looking into my eyes as I

I’d never met an equal Wolf before, but my sister, Eisha, had warned me of what it was like. She‘d coupled up with her perfect match years ago. She’d only been sixteen and my mother had nearly busted a lung when she found out, but once she realised they were true equals. Mates. That was it. Mom fell in line and helped them organise the wedding.
She pressed her lips together, glancing at my Wolves then back to me. Apart from being over twice her size, I was also carrying a tsunami of power in my veins. She couldn’t win. And she’d only been in Darkmore a few months, so it was time someone as valuable as her got claimed. “So what will it be, Bullseye?” I rolled my shoulders back, letting the rain fall away and casting blades of ice in my palms instead. My Werewolves tightened the circle around us, howling and yapping excitedly. “Be forced to bow or do it willingly?” Bullseye swallowed thickly then nodded, her pissed off expression not

shifting instantly so my four black paws hit the ground hard. I was a beast, a creature of the night that could slip through shadows like I was made of them. My family lived up to their name. The Shadowbrooks were all dark like this and the only thing that marked me as different was the silver star that adorned my forehead. Mom had always called me her guiding star. And I called her my sun.
My pulse quickened as I answered it, lacing my tone with a challenge that cut the night apart. I waited one second, two, three. Anticipation crawled through my veins like a drug. And then she answered. A challenge filled her tone too. She was accepting it at last. And I was finally going to force her beneath me.
A glimmer of silver caught my eye and I twisted around as Rosalie lunged from the trees to my right, her coat catching the light as she collided with me. I was prepared for it, slamming a huge paw into her muzzle, knocking her off balance and forcing her back a step. She was incredible to behold, a beast as large as me. I’d never seen another Wolf so powerful and it set my instincts alight with need. But no. Fuck no. I would not accept an Oscura as my equal. She was going to bow.
