“Always flirting,” Cain taunted her. “Does that mouth of yours do anything other than weave pretty words and give adequate blowjobs?” “They’re not adequate, are they Roar?” she called over to me and I snorted a laugh. “They’re supreme,” I answered and Cain shot me a glare that could have melted glass back into sand.
I groaned as her power tumbled through my veins like an earthquake. She was nature itself, humming through me and making every hair on my body stand on end. “Rosa,” I choked out and she sighed in response as my own magic rushed under her skin. “You feel like a waterfall,” she said breathily. “You feel like a fucking landslide.” I rolled towards her, intertwining my fingers with hers, seeking more of her flesh as I lost myself to her power. Everywhere our skin touched, our power connected and thrummed with even more energy.
After Cain and the other guards had done the count, I’d held Roary’s hair for him while he stuck his fingers down his throat and brought the key back up. A little clean with some of his water magic and I’d managed to hide it away again in my cell, though I had to admit that it didn’t feel so secure now that Cain was on to us.
I lifted my head away from her throat, my thoughts clearing for a solid moment. Holy fuck…she’s playing me again. I released a roar of rage, yanking her away from the pipe and throwing her to the floor. She inhaled sharply in fear as she looked up at me and she should have been afraid. Very fucking afraid. She scrambled upright and I lunged forward, throwing her to the ground once more. “Mason!” she gasped. “How dare you?!” I bellowed, my pride wounded as much as my fucking dignity. She leapt upright again, trying to run and I shot in front of her, shoving her back over a control panel and

“Get dressed,” I snapped, pointing down the passage to my left. She licked her lips, shaking her head at me before heading away. “Fuck you, Mason Cain.” I turned my back on her, scraping a hand through my hair and finally healing myself of the wounds she’d inflicted on me, knowing I needed to try and forget this had ever happened. I had to act like a damn professional from now on. I sighed, doing up my belt with shame rushing down on me like a rainstorm. “Fuck you too, Rosalie Oscura.”
“How about Roary Night?” someone suggested and I smirked. “Yeah, Roary could give me what I’m after,” I agreed, ignoring how weird this whole conversation was. “I’ll go and tell him he’s required!” “The rest of us will go and clear out the library.” My pack began to disperse and I cleared my throat to draw their attention back. “Maybe get Sin Wilder for me too,” I said, my lips twitching with that idea. In all honesty if this wasn’t just a lie to cover up my meeting with the two of them, I wouldn’t be complaining. A three-way with Sin and Roary would be a pretty spectacular way to spend my

“Done,” I agreed, biting down on my bottom lip. Roary growled like that pissed him off and I looked up at him from beneath my lashes. “What’s wrong, Roar?” I teased. “You don’t want me, but no one else can have me either?” “Oh he wants you,” Sin interrupted. “I can taste so much lust on him that it’s giving me belly ache.”
I lifted my hands, forcing myself to focus on the large collar around its bulbous throat. I had to do this. Had to pull this off for my wild girl. My crazy ideas always landed me in trouble, but I may have just led myself to my death this time if I didn’t act fast.
The Belorian lunged for me and I squirted that lemon in its face, squeezing my full fist around it so it popped like a balloon. The monster reared backwards as the scent hit the air, spitting and hissing as it backed away from me. Hell to the fucking yes. “Off you go like a good beasty,” I begged.
“Believe me, stronzo, you’d be shouting my name too,” I purred as I dropped down onto my hands and knees. “You think so, little pup?” he teased in a low voice and I growled right back at him. “You might find out if you choose to stop with your I’m-too-old-to-do-more-than-spoon-and-make-out-with-you bullshit.” Roary rolled his eyes as he dropped down beside me. “I would have made out with a sock that night, pup. You caught me in a bad moment and I wanted a distraction. Don’t go thinking I’ve suddenly got a thing for you now.”
I ripped into the lemon with my teeth, squeezing the juice all over my arms and neck as I sped into the stairwell with his dying screams following me. I stuffed the lemon back into my pocket, leaving enough juice for Rosa and focusing on what I had to do as the adrenaline in my blood hit a peak. I held my hand over the wound on my arm and tried to ignore the burning sensation that was racing through my bloodstream.
Sook’s head fell back, her mouth wide as she screamed at the top of her lungs. The sound was filled with a grief and pain so pure that it cut right into my soul. A snarl left my lips and fear unlike anything I’d ever felt raced through my body. I backed away as Sook fell still, her eyes glazing over in death. The worst part of it was that a piece of me was glad. Because whatever they’d just done to her had been too much for her to bear. In death she might claim some solace from it. And the pain of that scream had sounded like the worst of fates.
dropped down to skid into the stairwell and a snap of teeth sounded above me. Gustard threw a kick at my head and I yelled as his foot impacted with my jaw and knocked me down the steps to my left. The Belorian raced between us and as blood coated my tongue and the smell of it hit the air, I knew which of us it was going to chase. It turned towards me with a hungry growl and I forced myself upright, half falling down the stairs as I fled. Gustard’s manic laughter carried to me as he ran up the steps in the opposite direction.
“Rosalie’s in trouble,” he blurted at Cain. “She’s down in Psych, where that thing is headed.” My heart beat out of tune as I looked to Cain, wondering if he really might help. “Do you think I give a fuck?” Cain growled and my heart sank. “Take them back to their cells!” He directed the Officers and they shoved us along. Cain turned around and shot down the stairs with his Vampire speed and I gazed over my shoulder in confusion.
The two doctors rounded the corner, their eyes widening as they fell on me and I sucked in a sharp breath. I’ve got to hide!! My limbs started trembling with something that had nothing at all to do with fear and a flood of silver light like a pure moonbeam suddenly erupted from my flesh, coating me in a hazy glow of warmth. I froze, my eyes fixed on the two Fae who could ruin all my best laid plans as they slowly turned away from me. “I’ve lost track of the time again,” the woman muttered. “Is it dinner now?” “Yeah. I heard there’s a new chef at that curry house in town, maybe we can grab some

Twelve. The fact that she was using magic confirmed my suspicions about her having the cuff key. And though I wanted to be mad, fucking raging, all I felt was terror at the thought of her dying here.
