And they matter,” she said sternly. “I know they do,” Torin replied through shaky words. “Knowing and showing are two different meanings. You can’t consistently tell someone you care about them and then turn around and do something to hurt them. You think that’s fair?”

I don't understand how she hurt his feelings?! Or what she did wrong?! She uplifited him and put him in a better place from the beginning of their relationship. He literally was still talking to his little side piece while they were together. He was the one eho never tried to open up to her. Now he's mad because her ex showed up and her ex being in jail is not relevant at all imo. Why would that upset him that much?

Synovi felt like his position in her life was ending because Don popped back up, which wasn’t the case. Torin thought she’d explained that, but now she needed to ensure he felt her. She needed to remind him that the moniker he gave her was for a reason.

So why is she apoligizing because he is insecure with having close relationships?!
