“What’s a night game?” I asked, trying to keep my voice even. “Games you play outside in the dark. You know, like kick the can, cops and robbers, ghost in the graveyard…” Cole trailed off as he waited for me to catch on. “Sorry, but I’ve never heard of those.” “What the heck did you do for fun when you were growing up?”
Not knowing what’s going to happen every once in a while makes things all the more interesting.”

In their sleep, both boys kept moving closer to me, and when I finally drifted off, there was one arm wrapped around my stomach and one hand intertwined with mine.
For a second I thought he was mad, but then he said, “You know you’re adorable, right?” Then, he clamped his hand over his mouth as he realized what he’d said.
You couldn’t control everything, because it wasn’t all meant to be perfect. Sometimes things needed to be messy.
“Loving you just crept up on me, and before I knew it, I was head over heels for you.”
