Cole was hot—his
“That’s fine. I won’t mind if you eat in the towel.”
“Why, you wanna do something else on the bed?”
surprisingly it was peaceful sitting with Cole.
“Any other dangerous pets I should know about?”
“Just Isaac.”
“Tomorrow will be easier, okay? I’ll see you in the morning before school.”
“I promise you’ll do fine. Night, Jackie.”
“But, I bet you made it look cute.”
but somehow just one glance at him made my pulse surge.
There might be one or two drool-worthy guys.
Maybe there was more to Cole Walter than girls and sex.
Thank you, Cole Walter! Apparently he was useful for something other than making me feel nervous.
“Okay then, Miss Popular, but promise you’ll join me tomorrow.”
“See you after school, New York,”
“It’s what I like to call the Cole effect.”
“We’ve all been swept away by a Cole Walter crush.”
I couldn’t do that with a boy like Cole Walter distracting me.
“Damn, girl, for someone so short, you’re like a mini bulldozer.”
“Hey, New York! Wait up,”
“Jackie, what’s wrong?”
“Hey,” he said, putting both of his hands on my shoulders. He gave me a little shake, forcing me to look back at him. “I’m really sorry my cousin is being such a jerk. Let me make it up to you.”
“Let’s add you.”
Cole’s hands brushed the top of my head as he drew a line.
“You got this, New York,”
“Yeah, because you couldn’t see your face. You were all ‘Grrr,’ and it was adorable.”
Cole Walter had called me adorable.
Standing in front of Cole felt just like that, except for the kissing part.
not even a supercute boy.
“Maybe a little,” he admitted, before darting forward and locking his arms around my waist.
he scooped me up in one swift motion and tossed me into the water.
“You okay, New York?” Cole asked, laughing. “Or are you going to need some mouth-to-mouth?”
Not knowing what’s going to happen every once in a while makes things all the more interesting.”
“You can’t prepare for love. It’s not like taking your driver’s test or the SATs. It’s a gift. One that can happen at any moment.”
