Some of what I have I could easily do without, and several of the things I don’t have appear to me as central to living the way I’d like to live.

This quote hit harder than I thought it would. I have so many material things that I don’t need at all. And when I think about it long enough, I am disappointed that I bought these things instead of saving the money and really digging into the real issue. Which is that I was unhappy and wanted instant gratification. The hardest part to swallow is that it has been a repeated mistake. Only noticed after the fact. Will it happen again. The answer is probably.

My grandfather is a really good guy. I wonder whether I am a really good guy. I wonder whether there are any really good guys at all in my generation.

It’s hard to think about. Whether you are a good person or not. Because honestly it depends on who you ask. You are the villain in someone else’s story. That’s just how it goes. But are you the good guy in anyone’s story? Hopefully the answer is yes, but more often than not I feel like you arn’t. You are just a character that is briefly mentioned.
