We . . . We shouldn’t be down here alone.” “Definitely not.” He stepped closer. “All we ever do is quarrel.” “Because you are beyond annoying.” “And you are the most provoking woman I have ever met.” “The feeling is most definitely mutual,” she snapped. And yet she wanted nothing more than to feel his kiss again.
“In fact,” he drawled, “you would beg for more.” “You would like that, wouldn’t you?” Raya couldn’t catch her breath. She was practically panting. His eyes burned. “I would love it.”
“I don’t even like you.” He nipped her neck. Pleasure shivered through her. “I detest you.” “You are far too opinionated.” “And, of course, you prefer women to be quiet and submissive.” His hand slid to her breast. “Apparently not.”
“If anything, your business acumen is a great turn-on and makes me want you even more. There’s nothing more exciting than bending a formidable woman to your will.” “Ha! I will never bend to you.” “I will settle for having you bend over for me.” His gaze smoldered. “And you will love it.”
“I want you just as you are. You could walk through the Great Room wearing nothing but gold adorning this ravishing body of yours and I would still think you the best duchess Tremayne could ever have.” She turned on her back, smiling up at him. “Have a care, Your Grace. It almost sounds as though you are saying I am perfect.”
“No one likes a bossy man.” A knowing smile curved his lips. “I think you do.” “Must you always be so annoying?” His lips brushed the curve of her ear. “If you allow me to take you up against this wall, I promise you will be anything but annoyed.”
