“The heart loves. The brain thinks. And sometimes, the two don’t agree.
How were you dating all three of those guys?” “I have no idea,” I say, shaking my head.
“And what’s with the caption?” “What’s wrong with it?” “You wrote that people could show their support by attending your comedy show.”
Not going to lie, the main character’s best friend, Maya, almost ruined the book for me. She was obnoxious and terrible. Her best friend is in a coma and she uses it to push her comedy show. WTF?! That’s not even funny. It’s heartbreaking and in any other book, it would’ve been the villain.
“And I’ve put such a focus on my career that everything else has taken a back seat, but I also think I’ve used my career as an excuse for a long time because I am scared to let someone in.”
“I better listen to my credit card balance.”
“It’s impossible to meet a man in person anymore. They aren’t at the grocery store because of DoorDash. They’re not out shopping because of Amazon. I had no other choice.”
“But they say drunk words are sober thoughts.”
