Peter the Fuller, a late-fifth-century Miaphysite monk from Constantinople, made the latter assumption. That led him to express his theology in liturgical form by adding to the Trisagion the phrase ‘crucified for us’ – so the Second Person of the triune God is liturgically acclaimed as having been crucified.
