Norwegian Wood
by
"For days after I finished this book I felt winded. It made me realise how deeply unhappy I was with my life and that I was just staying with the life I knew because it was a less frightening prospect than making changes. It inspired me to take some scary steps but, as a result, my life since has been much happier."

Memoirs of a Geisha
by
"I wrote to Arthur Golden after reading this and received a lovely card back. I always remember it as a sign that a reader is more than just someone who buys the book."

"Never have I read a book that challenged my assumptions and preconceptions so thoroughly. I still eat meat but certainly not with the same nonchalance. "

"It didn't really change my world but I remember my mum reading it to me and my brother, even though we were a little old for being read to. A lovely memory."

I'd definitely have some crossover on my list but Norwegian Wood would have to be my number one choice.
