Neverwhere
by
"One of the first urban fantasy books and a definer of the genre. Definitely my favourite Neil Gaiman book of all time and an excellent example of urban fantasy"

A Madness of Angels (Matthew Swift, #1)
by
"On of the first urban fantasy books I ever read and why I fell in love with the genre. Griffin's unique style really makes the story come alive and the rest of the series is well worth a read. "

Libriomancer (Magic Ex Libris Book 1)
by
"An awesome read for fans of fantasy that is also a wonderful dedication to the love of books and reading in general, a kick-ass story with a delightfully sweet and nerdy hero, which I guarantee will steal your heart. "

The Last Smile in Sunder City (The Fetch Phillips Archives #1)
by
"A very recent discovery of mine, but it well deserves it's place among the others. Completely unlie any other fantasy book I've encountered, Arnold's debut novl manages to be charming, funny and gritty, and the story keep you gripped to the very end. "

Fated (Alex Verus, #1)
by
"I really enjoyed the first few books of ts serise, however I found that the series went on too long and I was unable to read past the eighth. However, the first one is well worth a read, and I know lots of people continue to enjoy the whole series, which is why I've included it. "
