To Kill a Mockingbird
by
"Lee's narrative provides an insightful look into the south during the time period in which she writes, and shows how one family's kindness can change a community."

Ender’s Game (Ender's Saga, #1)
by
"While Ender was originally supposed to be a set-up for Speaker, Ender's Game left a far greater impact on me, and I still find myself reaching for it today, even though the first time I read it was years ago. Every time I re-read the book, I find more hidden meanings and depth, making each read more exciting than the last."

The Perks of Being a Wallflower
by
"The autistic-coded main character is a breath of fresh air. His two best friends are both brave and confident in their own ways, and the growth of Charlie throughout the book is beautiful."

The Secret Garden
by
"One of the first books I ever read seriously after a recommendation from a librarian who insisted I should read some higher-level books at a young age, I still find myself captivated and intrigued every re-read. The diction throughout provides the reader with a sense of melancholy or nostalgia, but allows you to feel more like you are talking to an old friend rather than lamenting a connection lost."

Howl’s Moving Castle (Howl’s Moving Castle, #1)
by
"I read this not long ago, and instantly it became one of my favorites. I saw the movie first, and while it is good, it doesn't hold a candle to the original publication. Sophie is headstrong and doesn't need anyone to rescue her, and Howl turns out to be a nerd who enjoys pretending to be old wizards and impressing Sophie. Sophie's sisters are one of the highlights of this book, and I love reading this book immensely. "
