Definitely, plus it's a great depiction of Turkish politics. I was disappointed with the ending, but the book was a great read.
I liked it. I don't think it represents Iranian society as a whole, given the author's background (she comes from a prominent Iranian family involved in politics, her father was major of Tehran, if I remember correctly). Nevertheless, it is a nice read about the value of literature and how it accompanies us during our life, and how our living experience changes the way we understand books and their stories, their characters, plots. I recommend you reading it and form your own opinion about it. I know it got a lot of bad press from people who think that it doesn't represent Iranians, but in my opinion the book doesn't aim to represent all Iranians, it tells a very personal story instead. I hope I was of any help :).
