"I remember receiving a pop-up picture book version of this book when I was in...kindergarten? Probably around that time. I loved it so much. I took it everywhere to show absolutely everyone my amazing book. Later, in the second grade, I actually read the novel. It exceeded all expectations. I went on to continue the series."

"This is the first book I read and loved that was 'realistic'. It's extremely far-fetched, so I use the term realistic loosely. It's amazing though. The Boxcar Children were fighters. They were resilient and resourceful (though everything was quite convenient in their world). It was an adventure in the real world. Magic, Oz, and Hogwarts are certainly enticing, but life can be wonderful even without the glitter and sparkles."
