Jen Catch 22- ahhh, it is stalking me!

Daniel Jen, I voted on this one with complete awareness that many people dislike it. But that's why the list is of "books that everyone should read at least once," not "books that everyone should embrace and love and make all their friends read and keep by their bedside table and hug him and love him and call him George." That would be a good list too, though, no?

message 3: by Jen (new)

Jen As long as it doesn't include Catch 22, yes.

Daniel Jen, I'm getting the hint you dislike "Catch-22." Just a hint, and I could be wrong. Do you share a similar displeasure for "A Confederacy of Dunces," which I voted for as well, and also is hated by many?

Jen Catch 22 lost my 100 page war. I couldn't take its ADHD prose at the time.

Haven't read aCoD yet, but it is on my to-read list. I have read snippets and it actually looks great for me, it might even go on my bedside table.:)

-later- whoops! I thought it was on my to-read list, but it wasn't there. Curiouser and curiouser. I just added it and checked to make sure that I indeed did read sections of it.

Daniel I'd love to know what you think of it. Please write a review once you get to it!

Jen Well, it has a very long wait in line, but I hope to post a review before joining AARP.

Megha Jen, I think to really appreciate 'Catch-22' one needs to read the whole thing. I can understand if you disliked it after reading just 100 pages, but your views might change if you finish it.
Hmm..so I guess it is very appropriately placed on 'the books everyone must read at least once' list :D

Jen I will revisit Catch 22 after my little humans are taller than I am (this shouldn't take too long since I am petite)
