All those Erich Kästner books I loved them when I was young! I wonder where those books are!

He is SO good! He also wrote some fascinating poetry and the occasional good adult novel - I really like Drei Männer im Schnee - was a good movie, too.

And there aren't even all my favourite Kästner children's books nominated. Der kleine Mann is missing, for example.

I definitely need to reread them. I distinctly remember a scene from Emil (I think) where he keeps his money pinned to his coat so that he won't be robbed. It also had wonderful illustrations.
