BookLovingLady (deceased Jan. 25, 2023...) It says "An Unusual Japanese Book List" but 'unsual' partly depends where you are from... Here in the Netherlands books by Yasunari Kawabata for instance are not (yet?) well read, and can therefore be considered 'unsual', as are the others I voted for. But Haruki Murakami, for instance, is very popular over here (which is why I haven't voted for him/added him).

Lindu Pindu Hello there Booklovinglady, as you can see, anyone can add books to this list. I thought it might be a nice way for us to see even more unusual titles.

I can't seem to recall whether I added the ubiquitous Murakami Haruki myself, but I definitely added Yoshihiro Tatsumi's books, which I wish more people knew about.

Cheers, Linda

Don't get me wrong, I do like your list :-) It's just that although some authors are very popular in some countries outside of Japan, they are not in other countries (and don't ask me why, as I have no idea...), which is why some books may be 'unusual' in some countries but not in others :-)
